Should lean towards yellow or going orange?

There's something not working here: figure is blue-ish (cold) so I thought base should moat likely be orange.

It may be the reflection hues I used on the figure: yellow/green, blue and purple. No red.

So I should either add reds into the purple midtones facing down or add a layer of yellow brown pigment powders to the base.

I'm not sold yet on adding a grass tuft at the back tho. Avid cómic readers may recall George Perez 's drawing of Cyborg breaking a fat chain ⛓️

Just because every afro American hero had to ata that time (think power man). It's both a nice easter egg and wraps it up with the main metallic body.

Hope you are enjoying the process so far.

  1. It's quite preposterous that I dare to give any advice, but I would suggest to add a slight warmer tone to the purple. Mere instinct, I know no shit about these things, so take my words with a pninch (or a lot) of salt

      Gracias 1000

  2. Don't mess with the figure. Change the base to match it more closely instead... please. If you start to tinker with the paintjob on the figure you might do something that will make you cry. Believe me, I've been there.

    1. Word! Some basing material went into mini's feet and OMG not gonna fix that but don't like it either... I thought base integration / dirt / weathering would be nice. ERROR. Superhero figs do read better being "pristine" IMHO.

Great advice, as always...thanks. I can see myself further messing up the figure if taking that route.

    2. It's true, superheroes always look better clean... unless the dirtiness is specifically what you're trying to convey.

  3. Next step will be combo varnish: gloss top down over the metals, matt for the skin, base and maybe even metal parts shadows
