Watch your step

.: laZyMinis :.

For those not aware of what a PIPICAN (you dirty citizens) it's the place where, at least where I live, the good boys go for a walk with his/her dog so it can attend nature's call without claymore mining the sidewalks. I made the signal to look really cheap and added a "watch your step" (wich should be conveniently placed on the actual panels) just for the fun. This unlucky zombie would sure think "I'd better not have got up today".

Vallejo model/game color, old citadel metals and inks were used on this fellow. The funky grass (it has to naturally grow there with so much fertilizer) is actually wargaming grass. I burshed a layer of satin varnish thinned with water to make it harder, then drybrushed yellow, white, washed with orc flesh wash... yeah, I'm that stupid. I even start the zombie skintones with dark green grey and end up with this. Doh.

Happy Meal

.: laZyMinis :.

Another oldie sitting on the table to be painted. I used white citadel primer, Vallejo Model color, few gamecolor and citadel old inks and metals. Maybe the floor need a bit of drybrush to make it stand out and look more rocky. This lucky zombie just found a meal and is ready to lunch it helping himself with a fork. Who said zombies have no manners?

Most colorful zombie ever?

Z
Z

Posiblemente el zombie mas colorido ( Colorful !!1! Colorful!!1!

.: laZyMinis :.

Maybe this one is the most ridiculously colorful ( Colorful !!1! Colorful!!1! ;) that I've ever seen. The color palette choices are a mystery even to me :) The only think I had on my mind beforehand start painting was that he should look like a skater zombie kid, you know the ones like Avril La Vixen videos and such :P thus the gear I sculpted and the shoes wich I already decided were going to be white. Done at last, hope to finish the other 4 projects already started and sitting on my workbench... maybe before 2007 arrives (ha!). Oh, and merry Xmas to everyone out there (?)

Welcome Mr. Barlow

¡Bienvenido Mr. Barlow!

.: laZyMinis:.

Poor Jerusalem's Lot townfolks... well they pretty desevered it ideed ;) Tobe Hopper's telefilm was wrongly titled Phantasma II not being a sequel of phantasma at all. I'd have titled it Welcome Mr.Barlow instead and try to sell it as a sequel of Welcome Mr.Marshall if you asked me. Aside from those pathetic typical spaniard turds (TST from now on) I think the 2 part movie is a classic and it's vamp looks really close to count Orlok from Murnau's film (wich I love).

Humoristic approach to the character more on the side of midget monsters/tiny terrors garage kits than the usual Toon Stuff I use to sculpt. Sadly it's a Halloween gift piece so I do not own it anymore. Scuper Sculpey, Nural 21 and Nural 34 where used. Enjoy.

.: laZyMinis :.

I was going for something totally new with my "guard program" and all the upcoming "system inhabitants" (everyone of them will glow like this one. Hope this helps to figure out what's on my mind. This is the same mini, and no, it's not photoshopped. Pic is perfectly taken, tripod used with a very good nikon cam, but at almost no light condition so it's fluorescent energy steam being so intense it looks in all the pics it shakes but it's the vivid light effect. This took me time. I have to admit I've never seen something lke it before so I'm pretty proud :) Pic quality CAN'T be any better... it's like UFO sightings but this one not only truly exists but stands on my shelf.

WIP October 06

NOFX, Toymachine...

.: laZyMinis:.

An overall view of what's on my workbench this month. A kid zombie (have yet to decide wich logo I will paint on his sweater, maybe NOFX, Toymachine or any other surf-skater oriented stuff), the therewolf (note it's a bit larger than the averaje Joe, and the two vehicles. This pic was also taken to show size of each. All plastic bases are 20 mm. Cheers.

Yo, agradecido. Como dicen los depeche mode "everything counts in large amounts"

.:laZyMinis:.

Yup, a WIP, one more time baby. So far I still have to finish this one, the cab, a teenage zombie and the howler seen on the last post... phew! This oldie / oddity just was my first attempt at rust effect.

Wheels, windshield, the gatling gun on the top and it will be finished. Just posted to keep the blog alive. People seem to not being too active lately so hope at least they will cheer seeing a bit of my progress. This gang-mutant-roadwarrior-explorer-whatever vehicle was a hell of a resin kit, like the oldie it as! A lot of sanding and hobby knife work was needed here but I did feel like a 16 year old with his new toy :) by the way, I've been testing artifex matt varnish spray but don't dare yet to use on minis...I'm not really confident about it. Also purchased a lil bottle of sculpey's GLOSS.

Hope you guy(s) like it. Dedicated to every reader - watcher (yeah some will go playboy magazine style and leave without reading a word!) even those that don't even leave comments. As in Depeche Mode's song "...everything counts in large amounts"

Happy Halloween !!

aaaAAAUUUUUUU!!!

.: laZyMinis :.

Can you hear the howlings? Hope you'll like my therewolf. I'm specially happy with the popeye the sailor / hong kong vinyl artist stile of anatomy on the arms and back, needless to say I love the typical macho hair on its forearms. Nothing else to add but wish you all happy All Hallow's Eve !!

.: lazyminis :.

My fourth mini painted since my 90's break and my first SENMM try. Thanks for all your suggestions. Maybe I'll just glaze it again with black, a couple of times... then varnish it glossy or propably will use those fingernail extra thick and glossy products. Before doing I might add thinned white slashes or dots to create natural light reflections where it bounces on the windshield surface.

What do you thin guys, it's way too overdone for that cartoony style / it's poorly done even for a first try ... so better paint my windshields black bending some white reflections and then gloss varnish 'em (simpler than my SENMM approach) ?

I've checking artbooks, ilustrations, real life examples, airbrush books (and of course all the pics and tutorials suggested) but finally the pic that came handy was a ciberpunk style movie poster.

Here is a reference pic of the colour scheme I'm using yet, since it's cyberpunk oriented I might add the typical NY cab back-white checker side strip.

.: lazyminis :.

All the minis I've sculpted so far are crying to get painted but instead thisis what I have on my workbench by now; 2 vehicles from Grenadier (the game was killzone, and the sculptor probably Copplestone since the human miniatures were his work) and a satanic goat from Caja de Pandora (aquelarre roleplaying game, sculpted by S. Sanchez).

Dunno how the second vehicle will be painted but this one is gonna be a taxi. Need serious help about painting the glass.

.: lazyminis :.

Looking back at it before the paintjob would had been easier and maybe looked better if I only basecoated it in boltgun metal and the shaded it with washes, Definetly the sculp would shine in this way but I had something else in mind when I was sculpting it.

I'm preparing a series of "program" minis that look fairly close to films like Tron, the Lanmower man, etc. First on this series is a guard program, guys who hunt down virus, make other programs behave correctly... coming next: some infected programs, worms, hacking tools and some modular board scenery just for the fun, maybe display bases.

Everything will glow on its own color. S.Sculpey original sculp pinned on wire to a 20mm square base. it was a pain to paint.
I didn't want 'em look like tiny men inside the comp. so I made him to float slighly instead of walking over the floor. It was a pain to paint...

anksunamuuuuun !!1!

Xavi se parte con esto... ;)

En fin. Sorpresa sorpresa... otro zombie.

.: lazyminis :.

Since he watched the movie my pal keeps crying that everytime, lol !

Fear the curse of the Museum Zombie (as you can notice from the floor and the broken glass). Made from super-sculpey (note: I actually have a 1 kilo supply so have to use it for something), a piece of fabric to simulate carpet, some bits of a purposedly broken Cd jewell case and a 20 mm plastic base. That's my second try with Vallejo model color.

.: lazyminis :.

Design notes: first, real mumies are pitch black so forget those movies, toons, toys, minis where they show 'em pale gray, green or purple like zombies. Then you got the fac they ere to travel thru the infraworld so the had lucky charms between the cloth. I wanted both stuff to be shown on my mini even being done in my usual funny proportions. In case you wonder where the inspiration came from, ask my new found friend. I'm fat as hell but he still manages to smile, LOL !! :)
