Design Your Own Mini

A..K.A. I accept suggestions/ideas.

Text only update, sorry but hope this will make someone's day (out of an experiment). Did you ever wanted a certain miniature (that doesn't exist yet) ? I mean a character (or any kind of stuff) from a book or a movie or maybe a crazy invention of your own...

This is some kind of " get out of your mind and get into my blog" post. You name it, I sculpt it. Just for fun. Your stuff may fall under light restyling/proportions-tweaking process (if necesary) to fit my other creations.

Feel free to drop me a line (even drawings iif you feel in the mood) and who knows, maybe in a month or two you'll see a pic of that bananakatana wielding frog-moose ciber-ninja warrior you allways dreamed about!

Supongo que no lo he dicho hasta ahora asi que, acepto vuestras ideas y sugerencias.

Esta vez solo texto, lo siento... pero tal vez pueda alegrarle a alguien el dia (con un pequeño experimento). ¿ Alguna vez soñaste con una miniatura en concreto (algo que no se haya hecho ya) ? Algo sacado de un libro o pelicula, o alguna locura diseñada por ti mismo...

Deja que salga de tu mente y entre en mi blog! Dejadme unas lineas (o algun boceto si os animais) y lo tendre en consideracion para esculpirlo (por diversion, no vendo nada mas que ilusiones) tras ligeras modificaciones (de ser necesarias) para adaptarlo al resto de las figuras que suelo hacer.

Quien sabe, quizas en un mes veais fotos de una miniatura de ese ciberninja sapoalce con bananakatana con el que siempre soñasteis ;)

Puede que este post se autodestruya en varios dias asi que aprobechad.

Formula:

VMC: 945 magenta, 70957 flat red, 70827 lime green, 70524 thinner medium, 510 gloss varnish.

VGC: white.

Vallejo Wash: 73205 green, 73202 pale grey.

Citadel washes: gryphonne sepia, Devlan mud.

Hi,nearly unreadable pic here, but it's done on purpose to avoid spoiling the final model.

It's supposed to be a ghost, well a possessed fresh corpse (someone just killed the last combat round or maybe a sacrifice). The problem here is how to make it look ghostly, apart from the paintjob wich I've already planned.

The robes were meant to make him look like floating and despite half liking them (still need a lot of work to be done there) by the time you read this I'd be destroying them unless I get flooded by " U nutz man !!1!? " style messages wich I doubt.

Problem here is that, making cartoon / comic strip-like miniatures has a lot of style restrictions. It's not that I can't sculpt ultra realistic (well I ain't that good anyway) but that it won't fit, like masters of the universe style of character into a simpsons episode. You need to simpsonize it before.

So this mini feels IMO like a rackham mini in the mitrhil miniatures range, just sort of out of place sculpt and hence, I may resculpt it to have legs and look like levitating, looking more simple and not so standing out the rest of the line.

Results, in a week (or less).

Hola, inintelegible foto, si, pero a posta para no revelar mucho.

Se supone que es un fantasma o al menos un cuerpo reanimado (poseido!) por uno. El problema es que parezca un espiritu fantasmal un poseso, de ahi los ropajes raidos para simular el vuelo. Ya tengo la pintura en mente pero la parte inferior no me gusta, no "funciona".

Al usar un estilo de dibujos / tira cómica estoy muy limitado esculpiendo. No es que no pueda ultradetallar la miniatura, es que no quedara bien, jamas. Es como meter a He-Man en los simpsons. Pegote. A no ser que lo "simpsonices".

Asi que pese a estar a medias, veo la composición muy pretenciosa y fuera de lugar, como una mini de rackham entre un monton de minis de mithril, con lo cual según lees esto estare mutilando la miniatura (a no ser que me vea desbordado por mensajes tipo " noooo tioooo!!1! " cosa que dudo). La reharé simplemente con pies, medio levitando, pero nada de harapos fantasmales, simplificandola para que no "destaque tanto" entre la "gama" de miniaturas que hago.

Novedades esta semana (mañana mismo ?) permaneced en sintonía.
