Hard Rock

Well that given one isn't so hard but still it's stone. WIP of the Monkey who born out of a rock (chinese book journey to west). I've had problems with dropbox so that's why Im posting just two pics concerning "off topic" stuff. Still hope you like it. There will be news regarding other topics arround the next week. Cheers!

Bueno, no tan duro el "rock" ero aun así,es un piedrote. WIP del mono nacido de la roca, según el cuento chino (que mal suena) Viaje al Oeste. He tenido problemas con drop box por eso actualizo con esto, pero si la cosa marcha el resto de fotos de otras cosas verán la luz... ¿ la semana que viene ? Seguramente. Saludos!

Sant Jordi 13

K, St. George time. Here it's a big day. You give your "princess" a rose (grown from the dragon's blood), she gives you back a book. Free books and dragons, easily my fave day of the year.

This is part of a 4 part vignettes. Part 3 to be exact. Time ago I made part 1 where he fought a blue dragon. Back at the time he looked like a inmaculate templar. I supposed so many years later and after killing so much stuff his robes were soaked in monsters' blood, turning him reckless and full of rage. That's why now he's a little more chaotic/neutral than good, abandoning his knight's shield in favor of a second weapon as now he only care about bringing death no matter it's to dragonkind or to himself trying.

See that at the bottom ? a Vellejo's bottle tip. He's that tiny. Maybe 4 or 5 mm tall. His posse is so damn epic if you ask me... love it. The coin is 5€cents, plus a primed shot on a lollypop stick. Next week I'll be doing the dragon. Hope you liked it. Cheers!

Vale, "Sant Jordi". Un día muy popular por aquí. Relagas una rosa (nacida de la sangre del dragón) y te regalan un libro. Libros gratis y dragones, aun os preguntais porque es de mis días favoritos?

Parte de una serie de 4 viñetas, de las cuales es la 3a, la primera hace años (buscadla!) era un duelo entre un caballero mas inexperto y noble y un dragoncete azul. Tantos años matando dragones han teñido sus ropas con sangre de monstruo y envilecido su armadura, volviéndolo imprudente, impulsivo...lleno de ira. Ahora es mas caótico/neutral de ahi que abandonase su puro escuro por una segunda arma, preocupandose solo por traer la muerte a los dragones... o la suya propia.

Veis esa cosilla abajo ? la puntica de una pintura vallejo. Asi de peque es... tambien al lado de 5 céntimos o subido al palo de un pachús. Entre 4 y 5 mm de alto. La semana que viene, el dragón. Espero que os haya gustado, un saludo!

Blast from the past (dinorider)

Well, it's been exactly 2 years since I made this fella. Inspired by the templars (survivor humans slighly mutated to adapt the harsh enviropment of Dark Eden - earth in the Mutant Chronicles universe) I took inspiration from the concept art in the rulebook wich elements to add or combine, as well as color choices.

Now its weird flesh and robe are finished, the rest of the model, mount included are basecoated, highligted once in some cases and then washed. I know for many it would make a tabletop piece but I see it as just the color blocking. Hope to smooth things up and finish it in the next sitting.

Bueno, 2 añitos exactos despues de terminar el bicho...lo empiezo a pintar! se supone que es un tempario (superviviente humano adapatado mediante mutación evolutiva a las condiciones del eden oscuro, la tierra de mutant chronicles). Me inspiré en el arte conceptual del manual intentando decirdir con que me queda, que combino o descarto, y un esquema de color coherente para la bestia.

La piel rarunga y los harapos están terminados. El resto esta simplemente pintado en capa base y con un lavado para tener un punto de partida. Algunos dirian que "para jugar, vale" pero le voy a dedicar mas tiempo, suavizandolo todo un poco, añadiendo detalle... espero que de una sentada en la proxima sesión.

All filler no killer

Ok, a quickie I made despite I don't play wargames anymore. A piece of terrain depicting a temple of an ancient "unknown" civilization. I blinked and it was made. Terrain is always fun. Oh, and next week I promise not to cheat on posts' dates. Enough of being a sociopath ;p

Una cosa rapidilla que me saqué de la manga; ya no juego wargames pero hice un trocillo de escenografía que representa un templo antiguo de una "desconocida civilización". Lo hice en un santiamén. Uno siempre se lo pasa bien con la escenografía... La semana que viene un post nuevo, esta vez sin trampas con la fecha de la publicación. Por una vez no seré un sociópata ;p

On Fire ! ( gormiti )

Iphone-done photos... not bad I guess, it looks a tad better IRL. Despite that, I looked for a toon like effect, ben10 stile, with those "kirby (jack) dots" and such. Firey footprints mad with Vallejo plastic putty.

If you missed it, this is a gormiti rubber toy after a good prepping / painting session. It'd made a good fire/lava elemental, a giant for my usual scale. On 40mm Base.

Fotos de Iphone... supongo que no están tan mal, pero mucho mejor en persona. He intentado un efecto de dibus a lo ben10 con esos "puntos Kirby (jack)" y tal. Las huellas flamígeras las hice con masilla plástica Vallejo. Un elemental de fuego/lava genial y grandote para mi escala habitual.

Para los que no tienen ni idea de que va esto, es un muñeco de goma gormiti tras una buena preparación y mano de pintura. En base de 40mm.

Tuning Rubber Toys

Recently got few of those italian soft rubber toys called Gormiti. I admit I love those as they are perfect for my needs (about 5cm tall and really cartoonish-chuncky) and to figure out what to do with the random ones found in a pack is kinda fun.. As my regular minis are about 2cm tall, beasties like that are great for gigantic stuff as demons, etc.

This one was just red rubber awfully colored orange at its head, knees, elbows and claws. It featured embossed "china" in one of its legs, "CE" on its back and the ussual mould flash found in cheap toys. After scrapping and sanding it all, filled the neck's and arms gaps with vallejo acrylic putty, modelled the 2nd row of dipping lava on its back and fixed strage blobs/warps found at its left side of shoulder and face.

Now, that toonish lava elemental (would be great for Crucible wargame) is ready for painting, hopefully next weekend.

Hace nos dias conseguí 5 muñecos de goma italianos, los infames Gormiti. Lo admito, me encanta (pese a que lo que te viene es algo aleatorio y pensar como aprobecharlo es un arduo pero divertido ejercicio). Miden unos 5 cm asi que para mis miniaturas de narizones son gigantes, perfectos para demonios o en este caso, elementales.

El interfecto era de goma roja con la cabeza, codos, rodillas y garras pintadas en naranja y las típicas lineas de molde y las palabras china y CE en altorelieve en la pierna y espalda. Despues de raspar con una cuchila y lijarlo todo apliqué masilla líquida para tapar las juntas del cuello y brazos, modelé con la misma la segunda fila de goteo de lava, le di un repaso a algo raro que tenia en la cara/hombro, mas lija y listo para pintar, esperemos que la semana que viene.

Mucha palabrería ya que no hago esto todo lo a menudo que quisiera. En breva, un elemental bien majo, ideal para una partidilla de Crucible.

So, wich color should I choose for Sentinel's face ? Classic pale pink ? Yellow / gold ? ...just chrome ? Gold is in the works but chrome (grey-silver, see photo) could be pretty neat too.

Entonces, de que color tienen la cara los centinelas ? el clásico rosa pálido ? Amarillo / dorado ? cromo, rollete moderno ? De momento estoy trasteando con el oro (de que cagó el m...) Cromado (foto) sería una opción interesante tambien

BODY OF WORK

Body prototype for the Sentinel padody and 20 cubic mm sample figure for scale. I still need to smooth texture, work on existing detail and add new, then take a mold and cast the final piece.

Prototipo del cuerpo de Centinela y figurilla (original) de 20 mm cubicos para escala. Tengo que pulir las superficie y corregir detalles a la par que añadir mas, para sacarle un segundo molde y pieza final.

Prototipo sólido del brazo derecho del robot, pendiente de corregir errores, añadir detalles y acabado final.

TRIAD

Definiendo la gama de colores principales para la figura (esquema de color 02) Existirá al menos otra variante cromática. Queda elegir el color APROPIADO de la cara del Centinela... un dolor de cabeza entre tonos carne, rosados, anaranj-amarillentos, grises y metalizados.

Defining main color palette for the figure (color scheme 02) there will be at least one more color variant. Now I just have to choose the RIGHT color for the Sentinel's face... that ranging from flesh hues to pinks, oranges, greys and metals.

DOWN 2 PIECES

Mi segundo intento con las coladas, y el primero con resina de poliuretano; un par de burbujas en la nariz fáciles de arreglar y por lo demas, perfecto.

Ahora lanzo unas preguntas: ¿ Preferis mantener un modelo o maqueta al número mínimo de pieza (la cabeza y el  cuerpo podrían ir unidos) o cuantas mas, mejor ? y ya que estamos, en caso de que el modelo disponga de una tirada limitada en caso de que alguien quiera hacerse con uno) ¿ cual sería tu postura ?
+ La vagancia me puede, prepintado, por favor.

+ Sin pintar y a cachitos; soy masoca y me gusta persoinalizar mi mierda.

My second attempt at casting, and my 1st with poliurethane resin indeed. Just a couple of tiny bubbles under the nose, no great issue so I guess it came out rather well. Now a quick test.

Do you like your kits with lots of pieces (not extras, just pieces that are meant to be assembled in one given way only) or the less parts the better ? Dunno if making the head to be one piece with its body and legs would make things easier to anyone interested or it would just spoil the fun.

Mark one of these two options if you were to buy a kit/statue/toy:
+ I'm lazy as hell, I want mine assempled and prepainted sir.

+ Gimme unpainted and unassembled stuff; I'm masochist and love to custom my shit.

It came from the 90s. There was an era when comicbook characters had to be at least 90% extra badass to sell. You name it, Spawn, Wild C.A.T.S. , etc. This is a homage to that era; warblade the outrageous mix between Wolverine and a shape shifting symbiote like Carnage.

Los 90! La era en que los personajes de comic debian ser un 90% mas chungos para vender. Spawn, Wild C.A.T.S. , etc. Pequeño homenaje a esa era; warblade una desfachatez de mezcla entre Wolverine y  Matanza.
