Spider Butt Cyborg completed. Drider needs name!

Not much to add. WYSIWYG.

People suggested I should add a mini spider drone on the base but I'm still trying to make it work.

Paint-wise, lower end legs are Vallejo's Deck Tan (a color to die for, go get it you fools). Depending on what I aim for, I shade it with english uniform, beige... I wanted cold whites so I painted them warm, that's how we idiots roll.

Upper leg parts are Scale 75 metal n' alchemy (blueish / green / purple hued silver tones). I noticed I missed the reds in the metal parts. Yup, the previous cybloke had hints of red on metals' shadows. I may or may not add this later on... dunno as it's a finished model.

The marble didn't work at all in the end: the kind of stuff that screams something is wrong but you don't know how to fix it. Leaving the marble as it was, felt too shiny and half assed, so I add a pixel-like pattern (those kind of animated effects you se crawling over videogame characters - see SMITE particle effects -), then glazed inks thru the airbrush to mist the marble. IMHO it worked and no longer feels like a gimmick.

Skintone is matter of fantasy & games Scalecolor. I went pale, then glazed the shit out of it with green stuff world inks and washes, plus some straight paint glazes. Everything thinned down with vallejo. Sometimes I also use Liquitex matt medium and their glaze medium too. Gooey stuff...

My inspiration for flesh tone was Urban War Syntha: its pale flesh was washed / filtered with blue then glazed spots here and there with green ( Scalecolor misfits green), purple, etc.

You are just few days away from the next post, so stay tunned for more. Lazyminis; covid-free posts since 2006, peace out!

A cascarla.

    1. Oído cocina! Gracias.

Mucho divertido, jaja.

    5. Ya lo he terminado. Bueno no. Mi hermano quiere más centauros.

Y si, es muy divertido. Los gnomos a lomos de los centauros.

      :_D

  3. This is amazing! The marble idea was genius, and despite growing pains the final product with the pixel pattern completely works (only faintly reminiscent of "Wreck-It Ralph", heh). Overall it has a great cyberpunk crossed with weird biotechnology feel that really suits it. Without actually reviewing all your past pieces, I'd say it's probably one of your best.

    1. Glad you liked it. I kinda like better the skin on the dinorider beast tho.

Those blends were creamy.TBH posted it prior to the robo arachnid but the spider was actually painted 1st, hence the technique feels smoother.

I always also feel my last one is the best to date, so can't really blame the dinorider.

Thanks. Hope you are having safe and fine moments with your loved ones in those turmoil time we are living.

  5. That freehanded green spider's "ass" looks brilliant!
    What range is that anyway?
    Kinda reminds me infinity stuff...

  6. I "design", sculpt and paint my own minis according to what I want to do for fun at that given moment so I could safely say it's my own range :)

In the mid 90s there were a handful of minis related to a fanzine/RPG that looked like what I do so I keep making minis in scale with those.

Style-wise it's all about stuff not taking itself too much serious (comics like Groo, Sturmtruppen...). Always hated the ego factor in the hobby, people trying to sell this like more than it actually is: grown ups feel better saying they spend their time in 'art' than 'playing with toy soldiers'.

Fact: cool grown ups don't give a fuck.

Glad it reminds you of infinity yet wasn't aiming for that particular 'clean' sci-fi look.

Sometimes I go straight and rip off... I mean, pay homage to classic miniature concepts that never made up to reality: my previous post in example, was a heavy beast for the Templar army in the mutant chronicles warzone Dark Eden (earth) supplement's drawings.

    Thanks for stopping by \m/

  8. Love the cyberpunk look, both colourwise and in terms of sculpting you absolutely nailed it. A great mini boss for a dark sci-fi RPG. Bravo, another wonderful creation!

Your words always fuel the urge to paint and take pics, merci beaucoup!

  9. Gran trabajo.
