Pink Horror #3

Never noticed how difficult is to photograph blues and at the time staying true to real life color. It's been a pain to shot so many pics (15+ pics to end up having just 4 half decent). Anways, in real life its, more vibrant and saturated.

This may be 1st time in life I achieve a true blue on its strict sense; While it's not just cyan, it doesn't feel to much magenta (ultramarine blue) nor yellowish (green) and still managed to avoid dullness.

Recipe: (VMC) Base: Deep Sky Blue , pretty close to magenta if you ask me, with a drop of transparent blue, followed by a layer (or two) of the same mix with added Deep Sky Blue. Lights were done adding Azure to the mix, then thin glazes of Transparent Blue to bring everything together. It surprised me a lot cause if propperly thinned it can adjust color saturation pretty nicely.

Hope you like it. The next and final one, later this week (pics already taken)

  1. You're not kidding. That's the bluest thing I've seen today, for sure! You got lovely highlights without sacrificing hue, and of course the sculpt is great.

Glad you like my troopers BTW... they're _so_ close to being finished. I've just been cabbaging some graphics for the base using the colour photocopier at work ;)

Thanks both for your comments. It fuels me up and encourages to keep updating. after all my hobby is painting/sculpting not journalism (nor photography wich I deeply hate) =)

    1. Heh... I about 50% agree with you about photography, if only because well-lit macro photography is a real challenge for me, I end up with decent results but only after taking a bunch of pics and fiddling with the levels in Photoshop, which I don't really have time for.
