All Your Base

This blog has been out of order as far as my computer was. Hardware issues I swear. I'm working late night everyday (after coming from the studio) to achieve enough results to at least show a couple of new posts in the next 2 weeks.

This unspeakable 20mm base was done usng cork and Vallejo lava and grey pumice effects. The tentacles were a major trouble here since I used unfresh milliput-like putty (Nural) wich itself isn't as flexible as greenstuff but in that state it even cracked... gotta have some greenstuff sometime soon.

Tentacles were bright turquoise at first and once highlighted, treated with several blue, green and purple washes at different ratios. The I applied random spots with purple, brown and base color to add a not-from-this-world feel. Grey and brown rocks had dark sea blue on the base mix so later with the help of blue and green washes everything bended nice giving a lovecraftian overall look.

Watch your step

.: laZyMinis :.

For those not aware of what a PIPICAN (you dirty citizens) it's the place where, at least where I live, the good boys go for a walk with his/her dog so it can attend nature's call without claymore mining the sidewalks. I made the signal to look really cheap and added a "watch your step" (wich should be conveniently placed on the actual panels) just for the fun. This unlucky zombie would sure think "I'd better not have got up today".

Vallejo model/game color, old citadel metals and inks were used on this fellow. The funky grass (it has to naturally grow there with so much fertilizer) is actually wargaming grass. I burshed a layer of satin varnish thinned with water to make it harder, then drybrushed yellow, white, washed with orc flesh wash... yeah, I'm that stupid. I even start the zombie skintones with dark green grey and end up with this. Doh.

Happy Meal

.: laZyMinis :.

Another oldie sitting on the table to be painted. I used white citadel primer, Vallejo Model color, few gamecolor and citadel old inks and metals. Maybe the floor need a bit of drybrush to make it stand out and look more rocky. This lucky zombie just found a meal and is ready to lunch it helping himself with a fork. Who said zombies have no manners?

Most colorful zombie ever?

Z

Posiblemente el zombie mas colorido ( Colorful !!1! Colorful!!1!

.: laZyMinis :.

Maybe this one is the most ridiculously colorful ( Colorful !!1! Colorful!!1! ;) that I've ever seen. The color palette choices are a mystery even to me :) The only think I had on my mind beforehand start painting was that he should look like a skater zombie kid, you know the ones like Avril La Vixen videos and such :P thus the gear I sculpted and the shoes wich I already decided were going to be white. Done at last, hope to finish the other 4 projects already started and sitting on my workbench... maybe before 2007 arrives (ha!). Oh, and merry Xmas to everyone out there (?)

Welcome Mr. Barlow

¡Bienvenido Mr. Barlow!

.: laZyMinis:.

Poor Jerusalem's Lot townfolks... well they pretty desevered it ideed ;) Tobe Hopper's telefilm was wrongly titled Phantasma II not being a sequel of phantasma at all. I'd have titled it Welcome Mr.Barlow instead and try to sell it as a sequel of Welcome Mr.Marshall if you asked me. Aside from those pathetic typical spaniard turds (TST from now on) I think the 2 part movie is a classic and it's vamp looks really close to count Orlok from Murnau's film (wich I love).

Humoristic approach to the character more on the side of midget monsters/tiny terrors garage kits than the usual Toon Stuff I use to sculpt. Sadly it's a Halloween gift piece so I do not own it anymore. Scuper Sculpey, Nural 21 and Nural 34 where used. Enjoy.

.: laZyMinis :.

I was going for something totally new with my "guard program" and all the upcoming "system inhabitants" (everyone of them will glow like this one. Hope this helps to figure out what's on my mind. This is the same mini, and no, it's not photoshopped. Pic is perfectly taken, tripod used with a very good nikon cam, but at almost no light condition so it's fluorescent energy steam being so intense it looks in all the pics it shakes but it's the vivid light effect. This took me time. I have to admit I've never seen something lke it before so I'm pretty proud :) Pic quality CAN'T be any better... it's like UFO sightings but this one not only truly exists but stands on my shelf.
