Flashpoint Fire Rescue ( Rescate ) board Game painted

Got those painted long long ago... Just 4 out of the 6 pieces the game comes with. The later two were primed with Vallejo's Yellow spray can. Those work wonders on gaming pieces plus don't leave the grainy surface Army Painter ones do (microscopic-wise but you'll notice when washing with runny stuff like oils).

The game is an action point allowance system much like Space Hulk but fully coop. Great family weight coop with advanced rules for adults.

Gears of War ( board game ) Locust Drones

This OOP amazing board game recreates the videogame action so well I'd rather play the board game than it's digital 3rd person shooter counterpart.

It basically has a neat and nasty AI that controls the bad guys, somewhat random tile disposition (minor exploring) and an action paced videogame feeling.

Its engine is card driven and hand management oriented. Your hand of cards are multipurpose: you can perform the action scripted in the card (in example, run + take cover + shoot or shoot 3 times...), A simple action (move or attack) or use the reaction icon on the card, like following a team mate that's leaving your tile, counter attack an enemy, try to evade...

Cards are at the same time your hit points, so the more actions (cards spent) or reactions you use, less hits you'll be able to take in the enemy turn phase. Lose all your hand and you are down. Survive a round and you get to draw more cards to "recover hp/actions". That mimicks the videogame "don't take DMG and restore HP" mechanics perfectly.

Enough about the game! One mini was painted like a year or two ago... Now I painted 3 locust drones there are just 2 left.

Painting tip: once the model is finished and Matt coated you might want to recover metallic shine here and there or use some final weathering: use a pencil ! Rubbing its tip against edges will give you perfect silver edge highlights, scratches, etc.

D6 for scale purposes

Go with it, go with it. ( Happy Birthday Michael Jackson )

Jam! It ain't, it ain't too much stuff,

Had that Maikol figure sculpted long ago and painted short after but base wasn't completed till now.

What can I say, choosing skin colour was a challenge itself, no pun intended. I remember looking a fair amount of pics for that purpose. I also tried to use different whites on an all white figure, so there's "cold" and "warm" white there.

I can't add much about Michael Jackson. Rest in Peace.

I dedicate this entry to those outstanding people out there. The ones who dare and push the boundaries, be it music, dance, science, whatever.

There always be a select few that do stuff, and a ton of people making profit out of them.

Who's Bad?

Who's Bad?

Drop the base! ( Fanhunters ) part 2/3

Wub wub, rescuing my old models so drop the bass!
  \(°∆°)/

Fanhunter squad sculpted by Sergi Vidal Sanchez,  the headbangiest, released by the krake... I mean, Farsa's Wagon, the weirdest guys in town and bought and painted by me, maybe the most dim witted painter by that time, you name it, the 90s.

They are sort of law enforcers. Gave them bases 20 years later, hurrah!

Standard base recipe: Vallejo texture, few cat litter scattered here and there, drybrush and a contrasting pigment powder custom wash.

Cider time!

Wub wub! Otro rescate de figuras viejunas, bass drop!!

\(°∆°)/

Calor? Sidra time!

Drop the Base! ( Tintin Macutes ) part 1/3

That's the part where you learn why this is called lazy minis.

Behold a complete squad of Tintin Macutes sculpted by Sergi Vidal Sanchez (a.k.a Criaturas de Leyenda, Barbarroc) the nicest metalhead dude in the business for Farsa's Wagon (As Bella's Figurinhas) some folks that were born with low sanity rolls.

You are looking at 4 packs from 3 different series: 4 regular Frenchie clone troopers, a heavy gunner and the mustache sarge. Resin minis from around 1996, later series produced in 1999.

Painted in the 90s so nothing to write home about. Oh wait. I gave them bases a week ago.

Shame on me :))

Vallejo textures, drybrushed some grey and gave them a brown powder pigment wash. Enjoy the time warp.

Hola siglo XXI :))

Paint revitalizer product mini review (green stuff world)

First of all, this isn't by any means a sponsored nor professional review. I just happen to have 20 year old paint bottles and wanted to give this product a try/share my thoughts about it.

Got mine from here.

Have  you been in this hobby enough to recognise that paint bottle? If not, that's enchanted blue from citadel paints.

Surprisingly it was not rock hard like the most of the ones I own from that age. God bless, as this only works on semi dry paint.

Veredict: it worked.

Paint had a thicker than ice cream consistency and now look at the stick I used to stir the paint, a drop is flowing down!

Then I kept adding Paint revitalizer to see how much it would take before breaking the paint and this is the difference between adding just water (paint will dry faster as water evaporates) or thinner: this product keeps the consistency of the paint as it was before drying out, so it's kinda safe adding a fair amount.

I had less than 1/3 of goopy and rubbery unusable paint and now I have half a paint-ready bottle.

Recommended if you want to keep those stupidly bottled (seriously, still using lids?) paints.

Oh, I added few drops of distilled water to bulk it out. I may update again in a couple of days, see ya!

Update: this product looks safe for brush lickers, as bottle says it's NON toxic water based medium. Mad props to Demi Morgana for the shout-out about pauper painters feeding on brushes. :P

She's radioactive , She's very selective

She's what I need, She's so goopy indeed!

Yet another De javú here. The mini is meant to be a companion for my other toxic pile of slime. The 1st one I made sculpting half a body then slamming into a goop of hot glue. This one, which I'm not proud of, was sculpted from scratch.

It was a quick sculpt and paintjob as my wife started sculpting with premo so, I had the opportunity to sculpt more often. Problem is, not every time I had a clear Idea or was in the proper mood.

It's been around 4 months since I did this, most notable stuff I may share is I used fluorescent paint (Vallejo was selling that decades before others did).

I wasn't after the glow effect and to be honest, old timers know that using a tiny bit of fluo on the highlights makes them pop. I just overdid it. Perfect example is how great orange turned out just by glazing some fluo.

But wait, there's more:

Lately, modelling companies started selling UV resin for water effects but truth to be told, it's a classic in (my wife's hobby) polymer clay charm works. I used the resin here in the same fashion, as a thick gloss glass-like varnish coat.

Hope you find something neat about this. I didn't.

Cheers!
