Quick and fun paintjob, mostly Army Painter's necrotic flesh (brush on), then dark and strong tone washes with touches of purple wash. Vallejo's heavy goldyellow or the beer mug and few blood splats done in tamiya clear red.

Living Dead *wip*... Girl

Original mini sculpted by Sergi V.S. for Farsa's Wagon. Really cute. I painted her in the late 90s. About a month ago I decided to give INSTAMOLD a go, a suggested by many fellow bloggers, plus I teached a couple of things about mouldmaking to my wife (she moulded and casted it in greenstuff).

While she was creating her 1st terrain piece ever (!) I took care of the blades with a xacto knife, drilled a couple of holes here and there, and sculpted several details, like "evil dead" eyes, longer hairdo, arm's bone, etc. in tamiya epoxy putty. It works like greenstuff but setting time is longer and results are quite harder.

So this happens when a girl is bitten by a blob of undead putty!

Miniatura originalmente modelada por Sergi V.S. para Farsa's Wagon. Muy mona. La pinté allá por los 90s. Mi intención era usar por fin el INSTAMOLD tal como me habían sugerido ya unos cuantos blogueros, asín que aproveché para darle a mi mujel una mini clase de moldes. El casting es por presión, utilizando masilla verde.

Mientras ella hacía su 1ª pieza de escenografía (!) yo le amputé un brazo, las espadas, hice un par de bujeros y con masilla epóxica tamilla añadí detalles como ojos "posesión infernal", un peinado mas largo, etc. Esta masilla tiene n tiempo de curado mas prolongado que la verde y fragua as dura.

Y esto es lo que pasa cuando te muerde un pedazo de masilla nomuerta!

Mas detalles sobre la pintura en mi entrada anterior. Perdón por las fotos, últimamente uso mucho la cámara del teléfono. Gracias por pasarse por aquí, mozos!

Then Army painter's washes (strong, soft and dark tone) Vallejo's matt varish and then tamiya clear red on top for random blood-gore. In a nutshell; army painter. As sinple as it can get. Básicamente solo tiene un color, el piel muertecilla de army painter warpaints. Un poquito de amarillo denso para los ojos y gris denso para la perlana. A partir de ahí, lavados de army painter (washes) en tono suave, fuerte y oscuro a pincel. Mate vallejo y tamiya rojo trans para la sangre. Rápido y divertido. En la siguiente entrada, el wip y detalles sobre técnica y materiales del modelado.

Black Saturday

Anna Gay and Hector Mora officially married saturday the 30th. Spent great moments (and still do) with him and others long way back (childhood, but mostly teens). He is special to me and she happens to be one of the nicest persons I've ever met (so cheerful) so I made the the wedding's cake topping figures.

Of course they work on tv and bombed us with fake tv spots (ah! being the name of a fake show wich stands for ana+hector). Spents lots of time with this. I better don't speak about how alcoholic beverages ravaged our dignity later on...

 

Just for the record, even so simplified, the figures do resemble them really well.

 

Hope to update with 2 new figures (on my usual style) this week. TOAST!

Ana Gay y Hector Mora se casaron este sábado 30. Pasé la infancia y la adolescencia en particular con este mamoncete y con otro(s) que prefiero no nombrar ;) Un tío especial para mi y ella una de las dos personas mas majas que he conocido en la vida. Asín que, que leches, les hice los moñequitos del pastel.

Por supuesto, curran los dos en TV y nos bombardearon con anuncios de la boda en plan telebasura, ah! siendo el programa ficticio de culebreo, acrónimo de ana+hector. He pasado una locura de tiempo con el encarguito, estoy francamente exhausto, pero ha merecido cada segundo. Se parecen un montón, por cierto.

Del deterioro personal fruto del consumo de sustancias que solo debieran usarse para desinfectar heridas, mejor no hablo.

Y esta semanita, 2 minis mas (pendientes de foto) narizotes!!

Been Away Too Long

First song from King Animal (soundgarden) came to my mind while planing this comeback. In the end most of titles here are based somehow on song names anyway...

I wish to say sorry to everyone whoever came here on a regular basis for the past months and found nothing. Switched 3 times from one internet company to another, had to finish a hand made out of wood, human-sized lego like headpieces and forged a 1 m. long bee.

 

Sounds like a ton of stuff but it really isn't as it's been long time since my last update.

 

I want to dedicate this post to Allison who if I can recall had another child and I wasn't able to stop by and write at least a hey-dude-congrats, Hakomike who finally got back his faith into french people and a bag of gobbos and last but not least, to the miriad (not really) of loyal spanish readers who probably would give me a kick in the nuts if I forget to mention them.

On subject: 8x8x13 cm. sculpey firm sculpture. Just foil paper as body armatures and an expanded polysterene cube covered in air drying modelling paste for the tube.

 

I will explain who those chaps are and why I sculpted them. See 'em painted TOMORRRROW ! More thrills this week. Updates a gogo, baby!

 

Como al final casi todo lo que pongo por aquí tiene que ver con el título de alguna canción, me ha parecido oportuna la primera del último álbum (King Animal) de Soundgarden.

Quiero dar mis sinceras disculpas a los que hayan pasado por aquí regularmente solo para encontrar...nada! 3 cambios de proveedor de internet, tallar una mano en madera, peluquines estilo lego para personas en silicona, forjar una abeja...

 

Parece un montón de cosas pero nanai, porque ha pasado también una pechada de tiempo.

 

Dedico la entradita a Allison que creo que ha vuelto a ser papá y no he tenido tiempo ni de felicitarle, a Hakomike por recobrar su fe en los gabachos y un paquete de gobbos, y por supuesto a mi legión de seguidores acérrimos (es un decir).

 

Al turrón; Pieza n sculpey firm de 8x8x13 cm. Los armazones han sido bolas de papel de plata y para la tele, porex cubierto de pasta para modelar de secado al aire.

 

Quienes son esta gente y porque los he modelado, lo podréis saber... MAÑAAAAANA ! y verlos pintados y un montón de cosas nuevas durante la semana. Updates a gogo baby!

It's The Arts (co-op mode)

Last day I went to my friend's workshop to give him a hand with painting as he wanted a touch of color on his sculptures. Matter of fact our relationship started years ago with him being my teacher (mould making and sculping stone) then pals and now I somehow became the teacher. Both heads were painted the same day, having a break for dinner. Must give him credit for the sculpts and the pics. Sadly these are WIP shots as body will remain just ivory but I went further glazing and using pigments on heads..

El otro día fui al taller de un colega para echarle una mano con la pintura de sus piezas. curiosamente nuestra relación empezó siendo el mi profesor de moldes y escultura en piedra, luego colegas y ahora de algún modo le he podido enseñar algo a el. Las pinté en un mismo día con pausa para comer. El merito de la escultura y fotografía es suyo. Fotos de proceso, terminé con algún detalle extra pero el cuerpo se queda en marfil.

Work in progres... I stopped painting it to make and paint all those colorful demons you've seen lately arround here.

 

He's supposed to be an alien patriarch covered in robes to move thru the underworld without giving away its true nature (big enough to be a mutant or a robot).

 

Coments and suggestions will be kindly appreciaed as I'm not sure if I'm hitting the spot here.

En proceso... paré de pintarlo para hacer y pintar los demoñejos coloridos que habéis visto por aquí últimamente.

 

Se supone que es un patriarca alienigena, cubierto en harapos para pasar desapercibido en el submundo (es grande pero podría pasar por robot o mutante sin desvelar su naturaleza alienígena). Tambien quería darle un aire señorial... los que lo adoran lo atavian con ropajes...

 

Agradezco comentarios y sugerencias... no estoy seguro de ir por el buen camino.
